Everyone asks why we went up to Newfoundland and Labrador. The simple answer: Because it's there. The longer answer: because I've always been fascinated by northern places - how people adapt to the climate, what it's like to live on the edge of civilization. And because when I was a kid I couldn't read enough about the Vikings and their discovery of America 1,000 years ago. |
