Owned by Robert Buckley of Beaverton, Oregon. According to his father, Ted Buckley, who sent these photos, "Robert has spent several years restoring his AMX to factory-new condition. He has really mopped up at local and regional shows."

Tom Dalton (tdalton@kpmg.com) writes: "I have a 68 AMX that looks fairly stock yet it has a 401 with Nitrous and 727 TorqueFlite. 3:54 posi rear. This car does get up and Gooooes!" The body-colored bumpers make this one look like a "Big Bad Red" AMX.

Engine bored 30/over, Compton cam, 401 pistons, Carter 750cfm competition carb, Hooker headers, Flowmaster exhaust system. Sent by Bob Frye (RFryesr@aol.com).

  1969 AMX drag racer with Chevy small block engine. 
Photo provided by George Galbraith, who had this to say about his buddy's car:  "It has a small block Chevy with a Crower fuel injection, narrowed Dana rearend, Art Morrison frontend, Doug Nash 5 speed trans. Used to drag race it ran 5.90s back in 1974-77 held NHRA national record in 1/8 mile. These pics were taken at the Street Machine Nationals at DuQuoin in 1993 first time there and won 4 out of the 7 possible trophies, Best Interior on a Pro-engineered car, Best Engine, Best use of Chrome and Polishing, Best of the Big Non Three."

  Modified 1970 AMX Engine 
Photo provided by Wayne Blue, who writes:  "It has been all redone. It has a 454ci.12" intake with 2 4s on it, and 33/21.5/15 tires on it. It has been in HOT ROD magazine (Noveber 1993). It was in a car show with 2500 cars and it come in second. It runs low 10s in the 1/4."
